Book of hours leaf
- Description
- Leaf containing prayers from the Hours of the Virgin. Written in Gothic textualis semi-quadrata script in France in the 15th century, the text is laid out in 14 long lines with ruling visible. Each of three prayers begins with a 2-line initial of pink and blue on a background of gold with foliate marginal extensions; rubrication in red ink.
