- Carta executoria issued under the name of Philip II of Spain in favor of Rodrigo Calera (or Rodrigo de la Calera), in response to his pleito de hidalguia (litigation to establish noble status), written in Granada and dated 29 January 1577. The end of the text refers to a colored cord (still present) and a lead seal (no longer present) (f. 55r). The text is followed by signatures, including a signature by Pedro de la Torre Romano (f. 55v) and a notarial inscription (f. 56r).

- Collation: Parchment, i (paper) + 56 + ii (paper); 1² 2²⁸ 3²⁴ 4²; leaves 3-14 of second gathering numbered 2-13 in ink by a contemporary hand, lower center verso; leaves 3-12 of third gathering numbered 3-12 in ink by a contemporary hand, lower center verso.
- Layout: Written in 34 long lines; ruled in red ink with double vertical bounding lines.
- Script: Written in Spanish rotunda script.
- Decoration: Painted full-page miniature of owner and family praying before the Virgin and Child (f. 3v), followed by silk curtain; painted full-page miniature divided into a smaller upper miniature of Saint James vanquishing the Moors and a larger lower miniature of the family's coat of arms (f. 4r); 14 illuminated initials, 7-line to 10-line, the first in blue acanthus leaves on a gold ground, followed by a first line of text in gold square capitals on a blue ground (f. 4v), and the rest in gold on purple grounds with ornamentation in white. Full-page miniatures worn and flaking, especially in borders (f. 3v-4r).
- Binding: Contemporary (16th-century) Spanish morocco, gilt-stamped, gilt-tooled, over pasteboards. Sewing incorporates multicolored cords.
