Healthcare in the Philadelphia area, prints

Description
Black-and-white photographic prints depicting people and groups relating to health care activism, and include images of adults, older adults and children receiving medical and dental examinations and care, healthcare workers, and groups of children in classrooms and other educational spaces. A small number feature demonstrations, protests and marches. Most photographs were taken in the greater Philadelphia area, and organizations represented include: Jefferson Health, Planned Parenthood, Children and Youth Services of Delaware County, Calcutta House, Golden Slipper Center for Seniors, Community Medical & Dental Center, Inc., Camden Eye Center, and Power Point. Harvey Finkle (born March 28, 1934) is a self-taught documentary still photographer and photojournalist who has documented social, economic, cultural, and political issues across the city of Philadelphia, the United States, and the world. Finkle's work largely focuses on activism relating to historically underrepresented communities, including people living on low income, unhoused/unsheltered/houseless people/people experiencing homelessness, refugees, immigrants, and disabled people.
