- Né à Palerme, en 1743, très habile charlatan, médecin et alchimiste. Impliqué dans l'affaire du Collier de la Reine pour avoir aidé Mme. de Lamotte à mystifier le cardinal de Rohan. Exilé pour ce fait à Rome, l'Inquisition le fit arrêter comme illuminé et franc-macon. Il mourut en prison, en 1795.
