Description
Copies of sermons selected by C. Hermann Berendt from an 18th-century manuscript collection of sermons. Includes six sermons for Lent and sermons on souls and the dead. Followed by a list of Maya words with Spanish equivalents (p. 228-229). A page of notes by Berendt on the other sermons in the collection, originally pasted to p. 137, torn free, and stored loose within the manuscript, has been removed and is shelved with the manuscript.

Script: Written in the hand of C. Hermann Berendt, with Latin words in italics.
Decoration: Drawing in red ink of the watermark of the original manuscript, showing three circles in a vertical line with a cross topping the top one, the letters CL in the middle one, a floral shape in the bottom one, and the capital letter I below the bottom one (p. 118).
Origin: Copied in Mérida in 1870 (note, p. 119).
Item 47 is bound and shelved with Item 46.
