From the Breadalbane Cabinet Gallery of Royal Portraits. No. 17 in "Catalogue of the Breadalbane Cabinet Gallery" (Printed at the Greenock Advertiser Office, 1824). Mary of Lorraine also known as Queen Mary, Mary of Guise, Mary of Lorrain. Note affixed to back states "from an original in the possession of the Duke of Devonshire[;] this picture is much better than that of the King in the same collection and is the only authentic picture of her now in being. . . "
