Description
Photographer's note: The Kamondo Steps, (Las eskaleras de Kamondo), leading up from Bankalar Caddesi in the Galata district, were built by the Kamondos who was a Sephardic family of financiers and philanthropists. The family migrated from Italy to Istanbul, and the most famous member of the family was Count Abraham Kamondo, born in 1785.
